Check your outdoor speakers are correctly connected to the outdoor speaker cable from the receiver amplifier
Check your outdoor speaker cable is correctly connected to your "Power", receiver amplifier
Check the receiver power amplifier is switched "on" at the mains, is not set to the "mute" function by mistake and has no headphones currently attached.
Check that if you use different channels to power your exterior speakers (usually A or B channels on the amplifier) that the switch or "on" function for that channel is operational *important
Refer to the Owners Manual that came with your receiver amplifier for recommendations
Most initial problems experienced with exterior speaker set ups are simple connectivity. Please try a different cable connection to your outdoor speakers or equipment
No Sound from one of your outdoor speakers?
Check the "Balance" control on your receiver amplifier
Check all connections and cable to the inoperable exterior speaker
1. disconnect the "working" outdoor speaker from your receiver amplifier connection/ channel. Switch the cable from the non-operating speaker from its current connection to the working speaker connection. If the speaker now works fine, the problem is your receiver amplifier
2. Reconnect as original. Remove the speaker cable at the "working" speaker directly and connect it directly to the non-working speaker. If the speaker now works the problem is somewhere in the original speaker cable
3. If the speaker still did not work the problem is in the speaker
Your outdoor speaker(s) sounds distorted, lower volume or "different"?
Exterior speakers are sometimes run out quite far from their power source and even each other. This can affect the sound quality between them. You must also be aware of large differences in the distance some exterior are run outside and the effect that "resistance down the line" can have on the actual signal strength received and therefore performance of your exterior speaker because of it
*Most TIC Outdoor Speakers are fitted with a surge protector, Revchem® switch, to protect them against power surges or receiving dangerous spikes, clipping or unusual dangerous power levels. If you find that the volume of your speaker(s) suddenly adjusts to a lower volume setting, this may very well be because of this protective device in operation. You should immediately reduce your volume level and at best have your receiver amplifier checked.
Phase issues = poor sound quality from your outdoor speakers?
Check the connections carefully from your receiver amplifier to your exterior speakers. You must ensure correct "Polarity". Phase + to + and - to - accordingly.
Poor sound replication, poor bass, poor hi frequency, poor signal noise etc. is expected from an audio speaker or speakers that are connected out of polarity or phase
*Warning connecting your speakers "out of phase" can potentially, seriously damage your exterior speakers or other equipment
